Happy Holidays! San Diego Tbird Members Celebrate
This year, we were lucky to have Carol and Gary host our annual holiday party at their beautiful home in Encinitas. With doors and windows wide open to sweeping views of Northern San Diego, almost 30 members of the Classic Thunderbirds of San Diego got together to celebrate the holidays. Lunch was catered from Buca di Beppo, and everyone enjoyed multiple types of pasta and salads, with a tasty tiramisu for dessert.
About half of the members participated in a white elephant gift exchange, and this year, no one brought any gag gifts! Tbird puzzles, Ford tractor mugs, and a pink 1956 Tbird toilet paper holder were all big hits.
One of our Garys (we have several) brought music, Elaine and Donna were huge helps organizing the food, and Mitch created a fabulous year-end video montage of Tbird club meetings and driving tours, including the one to Borrego Springs right before the pandemic lock-down. Club president, David, spoke briefly about upcoming events and heartily thanked everyone involved in making the holiday party come together.
It was great to see everyone’s smiling faces, especially those we haven’t seen in many months!
Our next Tbird club meeting is planned for January 23rd, the fourth Sunday of the month, with a special to-be-announced location and guest speaker, thanks to our (unofficial) event coordinator, Carol. If you’d like to join us, please do request an invitation. We’d love to meet you and hear your Tbird story.
